It is that cool, comforting, core strength that makes Earth energy so essential in our magick and our everyday Life as well. Being able to draw on that in times of crisis or in times of trial, or just when you're fucking tired, is SO important. Sometimes being able to just sit & connect with that is enough to keep me going. In relation to your body, the flesh is correlated with Earth. Your skin, muscle & bones. So, in that regard, it is very literally your home. Salt is an excellent Earth related tool for working in magick & ritual. Keeping a small jar or bowl of salt on your altar can help you keep that energy near & also help with grounding if things get too squirrely. One of my favorite meditation exercises is a grounding technique. You close your eyes & imagine that you are a tree. Focus on your feet and their connection with the surface beneath them. Imagine you have roots that extend from the soles of your feet & sink down in to the cool, dark Earth below you. Reach out with your Spirit & feel the strength & stability of the Earth feed your soul. You can work the same exercise into all the Elements by reaching skyward with your hands & imagining you have branches reaching toward the sun and feel yourself feeding on it's Fire energy, breathing & also creating Air, and drinking up Water energy through your roots.
I have a friend who has asked me to guide her through an Element Walk. Since she lives in Florida, we're doing this via email & Facebook messages. She's the third person, other than myself, that I've guided through an Element Walk & I keep thinking I'd like to have a central location to record my thoughts & notes on the Elements as I go through it each time. Because I am essentially going through the Walk again myself every time too. So, I'm going to start entering those notes here. :) Winter is in full swing and we are deep in the heart of the Earth portion of the Element Walk. It's a good Element, in my opinion, for this time of year. When everything is sleeping, waiting for the stir of Air & the warmth of Fire to come 'round again. Focusing on the seasonal aspect will be harder for you, being where you are geographically right now, so let's focus on the energy & power of the Element itself. Earth is Feminine. It's magickal Lesson is To Keep Quiet. There is some debate in the Community at large as to what that means, precisely. Some use it as impetus to urge initiates to keep the secrets of their Coven or to keep newbies from bragging about their magick. I prefer to use it as a meditation tool. Keep Quiet. Listen. Withdraw & harken your own Voice. Draw upon that secret whisper that only you can hear. Listen to your Spirit. Listen to the Earth. Look for direction from Within. Earth is cool & comforting. It is represented by the womb, caves, and the darkness of Night. It's color correspondences are Earth tones, naturally Browns, greens, and black. It is associated with North & with Twilight, old age, and Death. This is the time to focus on You & the seeds you have planted that have yet to grow & flourish (Spiritually speaking, not literally... unless you have literally planted seeds that you are waiting on to grow, then by all means use it. lol) This is an excellent time to reflect on past choices & learn from past mistakes, without dwelling on them to the point of depression. You cannot change the past, you can only learn from it & move forward with the Wisdom you gain from it.

First of all, I think it's a great idea to keep things like this here, especially given that you're guiding someone else through the Element Walk. Even though we're not actively pursuing it ourselves at the moment, it does help to be able to reflect on it as a sort of jumping off point to put yourself in the right frame of mind for whatever other Work you might be doing, whether it's spellwork, or whether it's something of a more personal nature. I know well enough to know you've got this down but if I can be of any help or my insights could be used gimme a yell ;)
