Recently, one drunken night on the internet, I followed the breadcrumb trail to a girl named Malissa.
I immediately fell in love with her work.
So I tweeted her. She pointed me to her Etsy shoppe & we started talking. I wanted a mini-shrine dedicated to Eris and I felt like her style would be PERFECT to capture the whimsy I was after.
I was right.
We received the shrine today and are beside ourselves tickled.

I hope you enjoy what I came up with :) This was a very challenging & enjoyable project for me. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to incorporate a golden apple without it looking cheesy. In an epiphany, I realized how to have little secret hidden ones. The bottle caps I used are gold painted "Angry Orchard" caps = golden apples :)

She didn't mention this in her note, but in the shrine she also used little circles of dried acrylic paint. You know, like you would peel out of the paint wells of a palette? Like I do, every time I sit down to paint a new skull. Like I have done so many times over the years...
This shrine is so perfect. It couldn't have been more perfect if I'd made it myself. It is so personal & so lovely & so perfect. We are beyond happy with it.
Now I feel the need to paint a mural on the wall it hangs on, just to make the wall worthy of displaying it!
